ChatGPT vs Bard vs Bing Chat Front-End
The technology behind these AI platforms notwithstanding, let's have a look at the experience between ChatGPT, Bard and Bing Chat.
We've been using ChatGPT for months already. It is a super simple interface that allows you to see your previous conversations.
We all got access to Google's Bard and Microsoft's Bing Chat AI this week. I was excited because they are both connected to the internet with up-to-date content, whereas ChatGPT is only trained to Sept 2021. This is important when wanting up to date research material.
Let's see how it went.
Google Bard
Pretty basic interface too. Read more on everything it can do.
But the first thing I noticed, was no conversation history! So I asked it.
It at least gave a compassionate answer to my rude remark. (Not that we want the machines to have feelings.....).
Bing Chat AI

And it was pretty rude right back! :D
The general release of the Google and Microsoft engines was a huge let down. They are nothing more than glorified search engines. As far a I am concerned, they are useless without that conversation history.
What I love about ChatGPT, is the ability to keep your conversations to refer back to them or pick up on them again when you have time. This is especially important for research projects that take days, weeks or months to complete. I've got conversations in there that are basically books full at this stage! No conversation history makes that impossible to do.
